Warm Roof Space Insulation

You should leave the space under the roof tiles free from insulation to give adequate ventilation so that you don t get condensation or water coming through the tiles.

If you can t install cold loft insulation because for example you re using your loft as a living space you will need to consider warm loft insulation.

For a warm loft you install insulation directly under the roof in the plane of the roof s pitch slope. A lot of empty space is found between.

Because the warm roof method makes sure all of the roof structure is insulated it s a more energy efficient option over a cold roof. The vapour control layer is above the decking but below the insulation.
